Last weekends after my sworn in at Putrajaya, my little brother is kind enough to offer me a ride back to idyllic Mukim Serting. It has been more than a couple of week since the last time I went back, I think the last trip was in the end of February 2010. Well, only the busy man got time is it? :). But I feel quite bad also because my father is the one who called me asking when I can came back home to visit him and not the vice versa. Where is my humility as man who still quite insane, rich (to have both of my parent) and healthy?I broke the news to my family that I will be in the state government in this three years time. My father was so happy, infact last week he already does the thanksgiving party at my village mosque. But I almost had a quarel with him, well I don't like he telling other people what I does. Eventhough I knew he didn't intend to be arrogant to the villagers, I'm ashemed. Yes, I'm a nobody in my village, among my friend and the community so when I become 'somebody', surely there will be talks around. But how can we close the lips of someone mouth?
My little brother also kind enough to lend me RM100 for the batik shirt when we stop at Nilai 3 on the way back. On Monday, I woke up at 5.00 am to pack my things, iron the shirt and does some house chores. After performing my morning prayer (Subuh) at 6.45 am I already heading towards Seremban. I already survey the route to SUK of Negeri Sembilan the night before on the way back to KL from Serting. Yeah, at 7.45 am only I reached the building and about 7-8 personel already there at level 5. Lucky me, one of my long lost friend from university days, Arif was there. He already served the government for 4 years and before this he was in Ministry of Health in Shah Alam. What a small world!!
Well, we were placed in SUK for the whole week and on Monday 12, April 2010 we will be heading for our own department either here in SUK or the district level. In the morning we had a brief session with head of Human Resource department. Then all of us conduct our own ice breaking session. It turn out that all of us are sons and daughters of Negeri Sembilan and for this intake all together there are 12 of us. The age group is between 24 years old to 28 years old. Relatively young junior officer and more than 30 years of service to boot!
For this whole week we were given task to get to know all the department and units in the SUK. For the past 3 days, it was a blast. Yeah, all of us except Arif work in the private sector before so it is a little bit But I have trouble to slept this two, three days as the time for our placement is nearer! Wish me luck! Be brave Adli, you can do it!
